Method for Displaying Multi-Document Print Jobs in OS/2 Network Workers

A method for displaying multi-document jobs in OS/2* print job
windows.  A job and document identifier is prefixed to the job name
which appears in both the icon and details views.

Print jobs submitted to Printing Systems Manager (PSM) for AIX*
may consist of multiple documents.  These jobs may be viewed with the
PSM OS/2 Client Network Independent Worker.  However, OS/2 has no
support for multiple-document jobs; each document is considered to be
a separate print job.  This leads to the following undesirable
effects for the OS/2 user:
o  In the icon view, the user cannot tell which print jobs are
really part of a single multiple-document job
o  In the details view, the user sees multiple entries with the
same
      job number.

The solution to these problems is to prefix the PSM job and
document identifier to the print job name.  This identifier is of the
form jobnum.docnum.  An example of how this would appear in the
details view is shown in the Table.  In the icon view, the icon text
would contain the job and document identifier which would allow the
user to determine which documents belonged to the same job.
