Driving Method of Gate Electrode of Thin Film Transistor/Liquid Crystal
Display

      Disclosed is a driving method of gate electrode for Thin Film
Transistor/Liquid Crystal Display (TFT/LCD) of storage capacitor on
gate electrode (Cs on gate) structure.

      This method enables not to use special control signal.  Gate
driver IC for dummy gate line also can be simple.

      The Figure shows the waveform of this driving method.  A dummy
gate electrode is needed to compensate charging voltage of TFTs on
first gate electrode.  The waveform of dummy gate electrode can be
simplified to compare with other gate electrodes.  TFTs on First gate
electrode can be driven same as others by V2 voltage level of dummy
gate electrode.  Signals of first and dummy gate electrodes are made
of same start control pulse.  No special control signal is needed.
Shift resistor circuit and some analog switches in gate driver IC can
be eliminated as V1 voltage level is not applied in signal of dummy
gate electrode.
