Abstract

Disclosed is the integrated method to minimize the increase of Power On Reset (POR) time when the following two important functions during POR sequence are implemented. One function is the sweeping of the particles on disk surfaces using slider edge for Thermal Asperity (TA) prevention. Another is the measurement and calibration of tension of flexible cable (Flex_table generation). This integrated method executes the Flex_table generation utilizing the seeks for sweeping the particles.

Integrated Power on Reset Thermal Asperity Sweep Method

      Disclosed is the integrated method to minimize the increase of
Power On Reset (POR) time when the following two important functions
during POR sequence are implemented.  One function is the sweeping of
the particles on disk surfaces using slider edge for Thermal Asperity
(TA) prevention.  Another is the measurement and calibration of
tension of flexible cable (Flex_table generation).  This integrated

      The Figure shows charts that compare the POR time of the
disclosed method and conventional POR time.  The disclosed method can
minimize the increase of POR time with two functions.
