Multi-Use Docking Connector

      Disclosed is a docking connector for a notebook Personal
Computer (PC).  The present invention concept enables use of
different types of docking stations or port replicators which have a
different number of pins.

      Fig. 1 shows an example of a connector; two parallel connectors
(each of them has 100 pins) are laid on the bottom of a PC.  A port
replicator, which has 100 pin connectors, uses only one side of the
connectors.  There is no need for a port replicator to have expensive
200 pin connectors.  Also, this 100 pin port replicator can be used
for a cheaper notebook PC with a 100 pin connector (Fig. 2).  On the
other hand, a high functional docking station with a 200 pin
connector uses both of them on the PC.
