Thin Film Transistor/Liquid Crystal Display Design on a Thin Glass

      Disclosed is a device for the Thin Film Transistor/Liquid
Crystal Display (TFT/LCD) which has a pair of TFTs on one line, not
for a pixel, but for protection from Electric Static Damage (ESD).
One TFT  is located outside of a cell cutting line, and another is
located inside.

      Fig. 1 shows an example of this device.  TFT1 is located
outside of a cell cutting line and cut off in the middle of cell
process.  TFT2 is located inside of a cell cutting line and cut off
after completion of all cell process.  These two TFTs are connected
in parallel and become low in resistance in total to protect them
from ESD in the array process in spite of patterning on a thin glass.

      It is also possible to have an equivalent circuit for the
device.  This is demonstrated in Fig. 2.
