Head Gimbal Assembly Tube Holder by Using Flexible Cable Outlines

      Disclosed is an apparatus to hold the Head Gimbal Assembly
(HGA) tube by using flexible cable outlines formed by any shapes,
i.e., slit or hole etc., in Hard Disk Drive (HDD).

      Figs. 1, 2 and 3 show examples of the apparatus.  A HGA tube
(1) is held by the cable area (2) which is formed by a hole (3) and a
slit (4) on the flexible cable.  A mold bracket (5) as a stiffener is
attached to the flexible cable and has a slot (6) to control the
adhesive area, and the chamfer (7) enables picking the cable area (2)
for holding the HGA tube.  The HGA tube does not easily come off
after being held into the hole as a holder, therefore, the tolerance
of the bracket slit for the holding of the tube becomes looser and
this apparatus enables the tubes to be held without precise dimension
of parts and strict tube hold control.

      The holder substance by using the outline is not limited to the
flexible cable itself, but any layer(s), for example, only cover film
etc., in flexible cable lamination or stiffeners are also applicable.
