Head Suspension Assembly Apparatus to Widen the Effective Area for
Reflow Pad

Disclosed is an apparatus to widen the effective area for a
reflow pad by using any other surface except a reflow pad surface on
a flexible cable for actuator assembling in a Hard Disk Drive (HDD).

Figs. 1, 2 and 3 show an example of the apparatus.  A flexible
cable (1) is adhered to a T-shaped bracket (2).  The area (3) which
has an electrical ground pad or also extra signal lines and Voice

Coil Motor (VCM) pads, on flexible cable (1) can be folded on the
lines (4), and the area (3) is fixed to the side area of the actuator
(5) with bracket (2) by using a screw (6).

Therefore, the pad number on the reflow pad surface can be
increased more without reducing the pad size itself, and this
apparatus enables grounding by only one screw.

The folded area is not limited by the side of the flexible
cable, but any other surface(s), for example, bottom, etc., in
flexible cable are also applicable.
