Driving Method Reducing Charging-Loss for Liquid Crystal Display

      Disclosed is a driving method of Thin Film Transistor/Liquid
Crystal Display (TFT/LCD) which reduces charging loss due to gate
delay.  This method is applied for LCD panels both of
storage-capacitor on gate structure "Cs on Gate" and separate
storage-capacitor structure.

The driving condition is as follows:
  1.  In proportion to the distance from Gate-line driving side
       to each Data-line, the inversion timing of the Data-line
       voltage is delayed gradually or step by step.
  2.  Gate delay decides the maximum delay of the inversion timing.

      Fig. 1 shows an equivalent circuit of one TFT/LCD's
pixel.  Fig. 2 shows the driving wave form of this driving method
which applies to the TFT/LCD.

      This driving method is effective in various types of TFT/LCD
driving such as "vertical line inversion drive", "pixel inversion
drive", etc.
