Abstract

Disclosed is a clear and simple method of determining what type of memory cards can be used successfully in a particular personal computer motherboard by the use of color codes. This coding scheme would easily allow non-technical personnel to quickly and accurately assess whether or not a given memory card would operate correctly in a given motherboard.

Color Codes for Memory Cards and Mother Boards

      Disclosed is a clear and simple method of determining what type
of memory cards can be used successfully in a particular personal
computer motherboard by the use of color codes.  This coding scheme
would easily allow non-technical personnel to quickly and accurately
assess whether or not a given memory card would operate correctly in
a given motherboard.

      Color strips would be added to both the memory card and the
computer motherboard.  The strips on the memory card would indicate
the important attributes of the card, and the strips on the
motherboard would indicate all possible variations of those memory
card attributes that the motherboard will support.

The Table depicts a proposed definition of a color code table.
