Suspension Assembly/Actuator Arm Shock Limiter for Load/Unload

      Disclosed is a Hard Disk Drive Design with a Shock Limiter
which prevents the Head, Disk and Suspension from being damaged when
external shock is applied at an unloaded state.

      To prevent Arm/Disk edge hitting, an E-shaped Comb Shock
Limiter is inserted between Arms, as shown in Fig. 1.  It is
recommended that the E-shaped Combs are inserted between Arms and
Disks.  The recommended material of this Shock Limiter is Engineering
Plastics.

      To prevent excess movement of Suspensions by external shock, a
Shock Limiter is inserted between a pair of suspension assemblies, as
shown in Fig. 2.  It is recommended that this Shock Limiter be
integrated with the Load/Unload ramp.  The recommended material for
this Shock Limiter is also Engineering Plastics.
