Abstract

Disclosed is a method to load string information for National Language Support. The solution is a Java Catalog file much like the UNIX* catalog file for its definition but its creation is designed to fit into the Java network computing model. The process and design of the Java is as follows: A UNIX format message file is created which is simply a text file with directives that can be used to create a UNIX catalog file. This is a well known and accepted format. A program is written called javacat which takes as input a UNIX format message file and a java class name as output. javacat myfile.msg MyJavaCatalog

Java Catalog File Process

      Disclosed is a method to load string information for National
Language Support.  The solution is a Java Catalog file much like the
UNIX* catalog file for its definition but its creation is designed to
fit into the Java network computing model.  The process and design of
the Java is as follows: A UNIX format message file is created which
is simply a text file with directives that can be used to create a
UNIX catalog file.  This is a well known and accepted format.  A
program is written called javacat which takes as input a UNIX format
message file and a java class name as output.
  javacat  myfile.msg MyJavaCatalog

      The  javacat  program is a java program which reads the message
file and creates an intermediate java source code file the name of
the requested class.  In the example above, a file called
MyJavaCatalog.java is created.  Then the MyJavaCatalog.java  file  is
compiled with the java compiler javac, which creates a
MyJavaCatalog.class.  The MyJavaCatalog.class file can transcend
platforms for on demand loading because it is java.  A new method is
proposed creating a class which has data imbedded for access as a
catalog file.  The proposed new method will provide a means to
utilize existing  UNIX catalog file construction.
