Intuitive and Simple Clipboard

      Disclosed is a simple and intuitive clipboard system which does
not require any window system nor graphics display system, unlike the
conventional clipboard systems.

      This new clipboard system enables the use of resource
constraint computers, such as a handheld mobile computer or Personal
Digital Assistance (PDA), which has less than 256K bytes of physical
memory and also provides 320 x 200 pixels display area or less.

      This new system has the following two features in order to
resolve hardware resource constraint issues which the current
clipboard system has:
  1.  Virtual display memory area where the target object image
       is copied or any parts of the total objects are saved when
       no longer required for the new clipboard system.  Therefore,
       required memory is drastically reduced.
  2.  The conventional clipboard system provides a pull-down menu
       or pop-up menu on the same screen where the target objects
       from/to the clipboard are placed and is needed to share one
       physical display area.  The new clipboard system, on the
       other hand, provides one marker, called ClipPocket, which
       is placed beside the display screen, where it is out of the
       display area.  To copy (paste) the object to (from) the
