Circuit of Reducing Power Consumption for Thin Film Transistor/Liquid
Crystal Display

      Disclosed is a method of driving a Direct Current (DC) common
plate (VCOM) for Thin Film Transistor/Liquid Crystal Display
(TFT/LCD).

      The Figure shows a driving circuit of a DC common plate.  The
voltage level of the common plate is fixed on two resistors.  As
little current is necessary to charge a DC common plate, these two
resistors can have a very high resistance and the Operation Amplifier
(OP-AMP) can be eliminated from this circuit.  This enables reduction
of power consumption.  The current is supplied from two capacitors to
charge or  discharge the common plate.
