Internet Push Warning

Disclosed is a method for giving the user control over when an
internet push occurs.

Push technology on the internet moves data from a server to a
client at specified times.  Sometimes, the push uses substantial
system resources, and the system slows down for the user.  Users
would like to  have an easy way to prevent a push from slowing down
the system while they are working.

The present invention provides a push warning when a
push is about to start.  This lets the user know that a push will
occur.  Therefore, if the system slows down, the reason is known.  It
will provide the user with the opportunity to cancel or reschedule
the push.

This can be implemented by a change to the browser, a browser
plug-in, or in the push engine.
