Wider Track Pitch at Disk Coercivity Negative Ramp

      Disclosed is a method to compensate for head magnetic recording
width change around disk edge at track squeeze view point.

      Recording zone extension toward ID / OD is one of the methods
to increase Head Disk Drive (HDD) capacity.  However, the region near
the edge tends to have lower Hc (disk coercivity negative ramp) by
the disk sputter process nature.  This makes the actual recording
width wider  on the disk.  In this situation, recording track squeeze
from adjacent  tracks by the write operation increases and that may
cause uncorrectable  read errors.

      To compensate for wider magnetic recording width near the disk
edges, wider track pitch, distance between tracks is suggested in
this article to acquire uniform squeeze margin over the entire
recording zone.  Track pitch can be changed by steps (>= 2 kinds of
pitch) or gradually.
