Controllable Popup-Keypad for KIOSK Personal Computer

Disclosed is a program that changes software KeyPad type
according to a browsing Web content (Hyper Text Markup Language
(HTML) file).

"KIOSK Personal Computer (PC)" or a touch-panel based data
browsing system, which consists of a Web Browser and a software
KeyPad, was not good at showing an appropriate KeyPad so that it
matched an expected input form.  For example, "Ten-Key KeyPad" should
be shown for  "Your Telephone Number" input, and "Address KeyPad"
should be shown for  "Your Address" input.  However, it could not
before because a Web Browser  is separated from a software KeyPad and
has a security policy that prohibits Web contents from talking
directly to local programs.

A solution is shown by using an Active-X Control as a bridge
between a Web content and a software KeyPad:
  1.  Describe input field by <INPUT> tag as usual in a HTML file.
  2.  Add OnFocus() handler by VB (Visual Basic) Script for each
       input field.
  3.  In the handler, it calls the Active-X Control embedded in
the HTML file with a KeyPad type parameter.
  4.  With the passed parameter, the Active-X Control calls
software KeyPad by OLE (Object Linking and Embedding)
       Automation.

The above logic assumes Microsoft Internet Explorer* as a
Web Browser but it is also applicable for other Web Browsers, such as
Netscape Navigator** where Java Scrip...
