Low-Cost, No Set-Up Method of Setting Multiple Defaults

Disclosed is a method to allow for different defaults for
different countries at no cost which does not require any customer
set-up.

To reduce cost and prevent the customer from having to refer to
a manual for dipswitch definitions, the defaults that traditionally
are set according to the dipswitch settings can be set by the
microcode.  Since different countries have different default
settings, the microcode either has to be unique to each country or
somehow has to recognize which country it is being used for.  By
storing the unique default form length, character set and code page
in the already unique font ROMs, common code can be used for all
configurations.
