Superior Transport Layers Affording Long-Life Photoconductors

      Charge transport layers utilized in layered photoconductors
frequently consist of small-molecule transport compounds dispersed in
an organic binder.

      Substantially improved transport layers, which are improved
both in physical and electrophotographic properties, are obtained by
utilizing organic binders of the copolyestercarbonate class with
transport materials, such as hydrazones.  The copolyestercarbonate
resins may be of the type described in U.S. Patent 4,330,662 (Dow).

      Improved mobility, excellent dark decay properties and
outstanding wear properties are attained.
