Abstract

A program is disclosed that resizes the frame window within the structure window causing the row condition window to be resized in visual query. In Visual Query, the predicates of a row condition are defined in the Primary Window. The construction of a row condition is based on the defined predicates and is done in the Row Condition Window. The Structure Window is associated with the Row Condition Window and it contains the entire tree structure in a reduced fashion. A Frame Window within the Structure Window defines the "zoom in" portion of the Row Condition Window. If the user resizes the Frame Window in the Structure Window, the size of the Row Condition Window will be adjusted automatically. The default maximum size of the Row Condition Window is defined as the physical screen size.

visual query.  In Visual Query, the predicates of a row condition are
defined in the Primary Window.  The construction of a row condition
is based on the defined predicates and is done in the Row Condition
Window.  The Structure Window is associated with the Row Condition
Window and it contains the entire tree structure in a reduced
fashion.  A Frame Window within the Structure Window defines the
"zoom in" portion of the Row Condition Window.  If the user resizes
the Frame Window in the Structure Window, the size of the Row
Condition Window will be adjusted automatically.  The default maximum
size of the Row Condition Window is defined as the physical screen
size. When the Frame Window is stretched such that the Row Condition
Window has reached to the maximum size, the Frame Window will stop
stretching and a message will be displayed which indicates the
maximum size of the Row Condition Window has been reached.

      The concept is unique because it provides an easy method for
resizing the Row Condition Window to display required information
while the whole tree structure is presented on the screen to the
users.
