User Selection of Image Based On Associated Application

This article describes a method for OfficeVision*/2
(OV/2) to provide a convenient way for the user to select an image
for a data object based on the application that it is associated
with.

In OS/2*, the image of a data object is determined either by
its associated file type or its own image if the file is an
executable.  Each file type is associated with a predefined image.
The user has no way of selecting other images to be associated with a
data object.

To solve this problem, OV/2 allows the user to select an image
for a data object based on the application that it is associated
with.  OV/2 will supply a variety of images that the user can select
from, and the user's selected image will then be associated with a
chosen application. The selected image will represent that
application throughout OV/2.
