Improved Connector for Ps/2 Micro Channel Adapter Cards

Disclosed is an edge connector for use on PS/2* Micro
Channel* Adapter Cards which will allow simplified printed-circuit
card shape, and an increased number of circuit cards per circuit
panel.  This will lead to reduced costs.

The defined printed-circuit card outline for PS/2 Micro Channel
Adapter Cards requires a projecting "ear" on the lower edge for
support and for attaching an I/O bracket (*). This projection makes
the card outline complex and prevents optimum card layout on the
printed-circuit panel.

By incorporating this projection into the connector instead, as
shown in the figure, the card outline can be made a simple rectangle
and more cards could be placed on a panel.
