Ultra Clean Transport Container

      Disclosed is a transport container for use in ultra clean
manufacturing for transporting contamination sensitive products from
operation to operation within and outside of clean environments.  The
transport container is designed to maintain a "mini ultra clean"
environment during storage and transport.

      The design features two airtight perimeter seals at the base
liner 1 sealing with the shell liner 2 and the base 3 sealing with
the shell 4.  The shell and shell liner also form an airtight seal 5
as well as the base and base liner 6.  Seals are achieved without
using a gasket.  The base is designed to accept an assortment of base
liners.  Two offset holes in the base 7 correspond to two posts in
the base liner 8.  The base liner can be configured to accept an
assortment of products or product carriers.  The application shown in
the figures allows the base liner to retain the product carrier in
the horizontal (Fig. 1) or upright (Fig. 2).  Raised retention bosses
9 position the carrier on the base and restrict X and Y movement.
The raised retention boss 10 in the liner center permits the carrier
to be positioned in the upright orientation and restricts X and Y
movement.  The carrier retention feature in the liner 11 rests on top
of the product which restricts Z movement.  The retention feature 12
positions the upright carrier and restricts Y and Z movement.
