Abstract

The bellows pressure fixture described in this article serves to increase or reduce the pressure force applied by controlling the pressure difference between the inside and the outside of the bellows. The fixture is used at temperatures ranging from 0 to 1000~C at a unit pressure of 0 to 1000 g/cm2 . It is employed in sinter processes where, in a closed oven at temperatures of up to 1000~C, pressure is applied to ceramic products. The bellows pressure fixture consists of a metal cylinder with a dished base. A gas-tight bellows 2 is welded within metal cylinder 1. The gas space 3 between the outside of the bellows and the inside of the cylinder acts as a pressure chamber.
