Floor Stand Adapter for Personal System Unit

Described is a hardware adaptation which provides a floor
stand for a personal system unit.  The concept enables a personal
system unit to be removed from a table-top orientation and placed
onto a floor stand, thereby freeing desk-top space previously used to
occupy the system unit.

Fig. 1 shows personal system unit 10 oriented vertically on its
side mounted onto floor stand 11.  Air intake space 12 is provided so
as not to alter the flow of air around the system.  Extended legs 13
on floor stand 11 provide stability while allowing close positioning
to other office furniture.  Master ON/OFF switch 14 is mounted on
floor stand 11 for improved useability.  Diskette storage compartment
15 is provided for storage of 3-1/2" diskettes. Four convenience
electrical outlets 16 are provided at the rear section of floor stand
11.

Fig. 2 shows how system unit 10 is secured to floor stand 11 by
means of screws 17.  Fig. 3 shows system unit 10 secured to floor
stand 11 with cover 18 removed so as to show the accessibility to
power supply 19, drive units 20 and optional cards 21.
