Alternate Image DLL Specification And Display in Officevision/2

This article describes a method for an OfficeVision*/2
(OV/2) user to find out what icon is associated with any particular
class and also what class is associated with any particular icon.  It
also describes a method to allow users to see an alternate image that
they may choose to represent their application's class.

OV/2 allows users to select a menu item "Display" to display
class and template information for any template. Information, such as
Class name, Template Name, Displayable name (valuable in non-English
languages where template name and displayable name will probably not
match), application path, procedure entrypoint (if applicable),
working directory, application parameters, template data file name,
template property file name, application type (Presentation Manager*
or not Presentation Manager), template type and the icon associated
with the template is displayed.

By selecting and displaying icons in the New Icons Folder, the
user can find out the class names of all templates that are currently
displayed in OV/2.  Using the Display dialog box, a user can view
pertinent class and template information before attempting to discard
any type of template.  Showing the icon makes it easy for the user to
recognize exactly what objects in OV/2 are going to be affected by a
particular action.  Because a template's class name is not usually
seen by the user, showing the class's regular icon makes it easy for
the user to know exactly what class is associated with an icon.  This
is helpful when trying to create a user-modified template, where the
user must associate a particular class with the template being
created.  When the user has selected several items for display,
showing an item's regular icon in the dialog box makes it easy for
the user to recognize what item in their selection is currently being
processed.

Currently, OV/2 users can add a class from the New Icons Folder
ADD dialog box.  When they add their new class, they must select from
a limited number of OV/2 images that are displayed in the ADD dialog
list box.  At this time, there is no way to dynamically specify an
alternate image DLL or an alternate image for classes registered in
the OV/2 ADD dialog box.
