      Disclosed is an icon for the Operating System/2* (OS/2*)
Extended Edition (E.E.), Version 1.2 Communications Manager (CM) Main
Menu (full-screen panel) on the OS/2 Desktop (see the figure).

      Graphical interfaces rely on direct manipulation interface
techniques. These techniques have become standard in the industry and
are based on the ability to represent objects in the user interface.
These representations often take the form of icons.  An icon is a
pictorial representation of an object.  The icon design should invoke
in the user an understanding of the purpose or use of the object it
represents.  An icon for the IBM OS/2 Extended Edition Version 1.2
Communications Manager was required for use in the Presentation
Manager*-based application.

      Each of the features listed below may be configured and then
started from the OS/2 E.E. Communications Manager Main Menu.
Communications Manger, release 1.2 supports the following emulators
and protocols through a full-screen and through a windowed user
interface
