Method for Statistical Analysis of Unsolicited Messages

      This article describes a method by which a user or enterprise
can permit unsolicited information to be categorized and
statistically analyzed on the basis of the categorization of the
unsolicited information.

      Applications which are engaged in the process of displaying
unsolicited information may wish to keep a visible medium of such
messages. The application  may wish to record the information to a
storage medium. Often situations exist where the user receives large
amounts of unsolicited information. Large amounts of unsolicited
information may make it difficult for a user to interpret the data. A
mechanism is needed to summarize the unsolicited information.

      The solution is to provide a service which permits unsolicited
information to be categorized and statistically analyzed. This
service would designate unique values for the categorization of the
unsolicited information. This service would then be invoked to
perform a statistical analysis on the unsolicited information. A
selective mechanism  can be provided to permit an enterprise or
individual to specify the types statistical  analysis to be performed
on the categorized information.  This mechanism permits the
individual or enterprise to determine which types of information
should be presented and which types of statistical analysis should be
performed on  the information.
