Ps/2 Card Extender

Disclosed is a device to extend the size of a PS/2*
processor card that enables its use in a non-PS/2 form factor
machine.  The disclosed device attaches to the card without the need
for card modification and becomes an integral portion of the
resultant assembly.

In the figure, the card extender 1 attaches to the PS/2
processor card 2 by interlocking the tab 3, guide strip 4, and
flexible locking bar 5 with the two existing handles 6, 7 on the
card.  The extender is attached to the card by first inserting the
tab 3 between the legs 8 and into the coring hole in the right handle
7.  The extender is then rotated down so that guide strip 4 travels
between the protruding legs on the left handle 6 while the flexible
locking bar 5 is displaced in the direction normal to the card plane.
Once the extender is fully rotated into position, the flexible
locking bar is allowed to spring back under the legs on the left
handle 6, thus locking the card and the extender together.

Additional features on the card extender include finger tabs 9
for handling of the card during installation and removal, and foam
baffling 10 for acoustic and thermal management.  Retention and
lateral location of this assemble in the machine is provided by the
front edge 11 and the rear tail 12.
