Universal Operator for a Hand-Operated Die Set

      This invention allows a hand-operated die set to be operated
independent of an additional arbor press.  The unique design allows
operation in a 360-degree arc.

      The universal operator is shown at the top half of the die set
shown in figure 1.  The two main parts are labeled "operating
cylinder" and "retention screw yoke".  The operating cylinder is
machined with a groove through its diameter to allow the retention
screw yoke to be cleared when the handle is moved in a downward
motion.  The cylinder has also been drilled and tapped at some
distance from the center of the cylinder, the further from the
center, the more Z distance travel is obtained.  These tapped holes
are then necessary to secure two screws that will be used to engage
mating holes in the retention screw yoke.

      This design which has the yoke drilled and tapped with the same
thread pitch as the retaining screw allows the handle to be swung in
a 360-degree arc and operated as shown in figure 2.
