Black Matrix for LCDs

      Disclosed is a black matrix for LCDs in which material is
dispersed in more than two kinds of organic pigment in negative type
photoresist.

      In the first example, the black matrix is formed on a color
filter substrate, as shown in Fig. 1.  Material for the black matrix
is prepared with carbon black, blue pigment and violet pigment so
that the color of black matrix is as follows:
                 x=0.2965
                 y=0.2977
                 Y=0.073

      In the second example, the black matrix is formed on a thin
film transistor, as shown in Fig. 2.  This material is prepared with
red pigment, blue pigment, violet pigment and yellow pigment in order
to make the color of black matrix as follows.
                 x=0.242
                 y=0.278
                 Y=1.285

      The latter material does not have conductivity so as to cause
damage to TFTs.  In both applications, using this material for black
matrix, the LCD can display the color naturally without color
temperature falling.
