Abstract

Disclosed is a seal printing method for a liquid crystal display panel wherein a glass substrate has alignment marks and a seal screen mesh used for seal printing also has marks coincident with the above alignment marks to achieve precise seal printing on the glass substrate. This fabrication method gives alignment exactness of surrounding seal on a glass and shortens the process time for seal print.

Seal Fabrication Method for Liquid Crystal Display Panel

      Disclosed is a seal printing method for a liquid crystal
display panel wherein a glass substrate has alignment marks and a
seal screen mesh used for seal printing also has marks coincident
with the above alignment marks to achieve precise seal printing on
the glass substrate.  This fabrication method gives alignment
exactness of surrounding seal on a glass and shortens the process
time for seal print.

      Fig. 1 is a plane view of the glass substrate 1 including
display area 2 and peripheral seal 3.  As shown in Fig. 1, alignment
marks 4 are patterned on the outside of the glass cut marks 5 and are
cut out after seal is cured. Four alignment marks 4 are shown in Fig.
1.

      Fig. 2 shows the screen mesh 6 used for printing the peripheral
seal, which has seal hole 14.  This screen mesh also has marks 8,
which coincide with the alignment marks 4. By aligning the alignment
marks 4 with the marks 8 on the screen mesh, the precise seal
printing can be made.
