Abstract

Illustrated in Fig. 1 is a two-piece molded plastic key top. The assembled cap's angled surface provides indication as to relative key position when inserted into a standard control panel lock. Key position without the use of the top is not clearly understood due to the symmetrical shape of the key blank.

Snap On Plastic Key Top

      Illustrated in Fig. 1 is a two-piece molded plastic key top.
The assembled cap's angled surface provides indication as to relative
key position when inserted into a standard control panel lock.  Key
position without the use of the top is not clearly understood due to
the symmetrical shape of the key blank.

      The plastic key top can be snapped over a standard key blank
without modification.

      Fig. 2 identifies the detailed assembly which consists of a
standard key blank 1, back half of snap-together molding 2 and mating
front half 3.
