      Disclosed is an icon for File Transfer within Operating
System/2 (OS/2*) Extended Edition (E.E.), Version 1.2 (see the
figure).

      Graphical interfaces rely on direct manipulation interface
techniques. These techniques have become standard in the industry and
are based on the ability to represent objects in the user interface.
These representations often take the form of icons.  An icon is a
pictorial representation of an object.  The icon design should invoke
in the user an understanding of the purpose or use of the object it
represents.  An icon for the IBM OS/2 E.E., Version 1.2 File Transfer
was required for use in the Presentation Manager*-based application.

      The OS/2 E.E., Version 1.2, Communications Manager, File
Transfer icon represents the File Transfer full-screen panel on the
OS/2 Desktop.

      File Transfer for Version 1.2 supports the following features
through a full-screen-panel user interface.
      File transfer operations include:
