OS/2 Print Manager: User Modifiable Queue Name Display Order

This article describes a method by which the OS/2* Print
Manager gives users the ability to change the list order for all
displayed queues and resource names by moving them to the desired
location.

The OS/2 Print Manager resides on the OS/2 Presentation
Manager* Desktop. It allows users to install various device drivers,
define logical printers and queues, and control various other aspects
of the printing process. The defined queues are displayed within the
Print Manager's window and all shared resource names assigned to a
local port also display. Every print job coming into any of the
displayed queues and resource names in the Print Manager window will
display after a refresh.

A user would move a queue or resource name using the same
method used to move a program from within a group window on the OS/2
Presentation Manager desktop. The list item is "dragged" to the
desired spot and "dropped" which causes the displayed name to move to
the "dropped" location.

This invention allows users to specify the list order for the
queues and resource names displayed within the Print Manager window.
Preferred names can be placed at the top while others would be placed
lower towards the end of the list.
