Fusing Device for Labeling Without Laminate

Disclosed is a device and procedure which provides the
capability of fusing bar code images into labels using commercially
available infrared lamp and controller units. This eliminates the
need for laminate to be applied to bar code labels that must go
through harsh environments.

The device shown in Figure 1 is a bracket 1 which mounts an
infrared lamp 2 to a commercially available bar code printer. The
wiring schematic shows the triggering procedure for the controller
unit.  The controller unit is used to trigger the infrared lamp and
bar code printer.
