Phase Lock Card Assembly Guard

This article describes a guard device which snaps onto a
circuit card prior to assembly of the card to a mother board, thereby
becoming a permanent part of the circuit card.

The guard device disclosed herein offers mechanical protection
for phase-lock loop assembly cards or similar commercially available
cards.  It eliminates bending of phase-lock card assembly leads and
other physical damages to the card from external forces after
assembly to the mother board.

The drawing shows the guard device in position for assembly to
a circuit card.  The guard device has retaining fingers along the
bottom to capture the card in the guard. The fingers grasp the card
under the bottom edge of the card.
