Abstract

In the Japanese language, a word tends to be voiced when it uses as the latter constituent a compound word. This is what we call 'RENDAKU'. And the same word which is used as an independent word is not voiced (unvoiced). We have only unvoiced (flat) form and can express by flag control in Kana-to-Kanji conversion dictionary.

Dakuon Information of Kana to Kanji Conversion Dictionary

In the Japanese language, a word tends to be voiced when
it uses as the latter constituent a compound word. This is what we
call 'RENDAKU'.  And the same word which is used as an independent
word is not voiced (unvoiced).   We have only unvoiced (flat) form
and can express by flag control in Kana-to-Kanji conversion
dictionary.

The new method can apply all of the unvoiced words as well as
RENDAKU words.

      The merits are as follows:
      (1) We can save disk space for dictionary.
      (2) We can get entries at a once time by unvoiced word
consultation.

In a Kana-to-Kanji conversion dictionary of the prior art,
voiced and unvoiced entries are in it in spite of the same Kanji.
     For example,
      'FU-KA-I'/'BU-KA-I'(deep) have the same Kanji.
'FU-KA-I' -- the entry of unvoiced form
'BU-KA-I' -- the entry of voiced form
It has the flag that indicates the request
of compound constituent ('GOKI') before this
       word.

The new approaches to voiced words and 'RENDAKU' words are as
follows:
      1. We will enroll one word in unvoiced form for
        'RENDAKU' word.
The flag we will set shows whether the words are
available for 'RENDAKU' words or not.
      2. We will enroll all voiced words in unvoiced form.
         The flag we wi...
