Lubricator for Meter Roll Wiper Blade

Wear is reduced on dry portions of a meter roll by means
of a trough which carries excess coating material to scraper blade
ends.

Metering rolls are used to remove excess coating material from
carrier material of an impregnation process. The coating material is
then removed from the meter rolls by scraper blades applied under
pressure.  If the coating material is significantly smaller than the
meter roll, narrow web, the scraper blade will wear the fine meter
roll finish.  The present solution, as depicted in the attached
figure, is to provide a trough whereby coating material is collected
and transported over the full scraper blade tip providing
lubrication.
