NLS Configurable Gateway

      A methodology is described which allows gateways to run
properly in an arbitrary National Language Support (NLS) environment
(e.g., Double Byte Character Set (DBCS)) without forcing the changing
or adding of object code.

      The program described gathers configured NLS values for gateway
execution and uses them to manage translations and error processing.
The configurations are made in a profile and gathered at run time by
the particular host agent. The specific configuration syntax may vary
per implementation given that the same semantics are achieved. A
syntax described below is consistent with OfficeVision*/2 (OV/2). The
set of configurations determine how to translate the inbound and
outbound distribution components, namely the interchange document
profile (IDP) information. The document content information is never
converted by the gateway and passes through as is.  The
configurations are:
IDPINX=YES                    ; YES = do inbound idp xlate according
to other IDPIN... params.
                                NO  = do not touch inbound idp and
ignore other IDPIN... para
meters.
IDPINXREPERR=YES              ; YES = report error when translation
failed or missing a gcid map; also send undelivered status.
                                 NO =  leave string as is and do not
report error if conversion fail
ed or map not present.
IDPINPGCID=CS;CP              ; CHARSET;CODEPAGE = configuration for
inbound idp PROFILE GCID
IDPINGCIDMAP=CSf;CPf,CSt;CPt  ; CHARSETf;CODEPAGEf,CHARSETt;CODEPAGEt
                                          = map of a FROM gcid in the
idp to a TO GCID in the idp as the inbound idp flows through the
gwy. IDPINGCIDMAP=CSf;CPf,CSt;CPt  ; There can be a maximum of 12
(configd) mappings.
IDPINGCIDMAP=CSf;CPf,CSt;CPt  ;   A IDPINGCIDMAP line can map from
one ;   charset;codepage to another OR
IDPINGCIDMAP=CSf;CPf,CSt1;CPt1+CSt2;CPt2 ; can map from one charset;

DBCS. The mixed code ; page is...
