Network Server Rack Mounting System

      Disclosed is a mechanical mounting system for the integration
of Medium Access Control (MAC) products into Server (PC based
Product) Rack System.

      The MAC products and PC based products have different packaging
strategies and different customer sets, but the need for networking
is causing a marriage of these products in customer environments.  PC
Servers require multiple side access for service and repair.  Box
services are indicated on the front panel of these products.  Server

I/O cables exit the rear of the machines.  Conversely, MAC products
are typically single side access with box services and cable I/O
exiting the front of the product.  The disclosed rack design permits
the co-existence of different type products into a single rack
support system.

      To mount specific MAC products in the PC Server Rack, two rail
assemblies are required.  Each rail assembly consists of a Universal
Base Rail and Adapter Member that screw attaches to the base rail.
Once customers install these rails, a variety of MAC products can be
securely mounted in the rack.  Cable management details are designed
into the rail  assembly so no additional hardware is needed to add
cable management functions in the rack enclosure.

      Features and Advantages: (1) The Adapter Means contains a
