      Disclosed is a method for selecting hyperlinks from a web page
using a single key to move from link to link and another key to
actually go to the link.

      A key on the remote control or keyboard of a web-browsing
computer is labeled "Next".  Another key is labeled "GO".  Each time
the user depresses the "Next" key, the system locates the next
hyperlink on the currently displayed hypertext page.  This next
hyperlink is then  highlighted either by altering the coloring,
adding shading or by being  enclosed in a circle or box.  If the "GO"
key is depressed, the system  will follow the highlighted hyperlink.
When the hypertext page is initially displayed, the first hyperlink
is highlighted, if there is a  hyperlink.

      If the next hyperlink is not currently displayed when the next
key is depressed, the system automatically scrolls to the portion of
the hypertext page that contains the hyperlink, so that it can be
viewed.

      If there are no more hyperlinks in the hypertext page following
the highlighted one, the next depression of the next key will move to
the first hyperlink on the hypertext page.

      If there are no hyperlinks in the hypertext page, and the next
or go keys are depressed, a message is briefly displayed which
indicates that the current page has no links.
