Method for Card-Edge Bus Extension

      Disclosed is a method for extending a card-edge bus without
rigid electrical connections.

      When a printed circuit board with (a) card-edge bus is extended
by another card-edge bus, electrical connections receive improper
force in inserting and/or extracting.  That improper force has bad
effects on  electrical connections.  This method can prevent
electrical connections  from receiving such improper force.
Therefore, it improves the reliability of electrical connections.

      The most conventional method for extending another card-edge
bus on a printed circuit board that has (a) card-edge bus is
connected electrically and mechanically by electrical connections
(Fig. 1). Since  electrical connections receive improper force in
inserting and/or extracting a printed circuit board, that causes a
loss in reliability.

      This method connects an electrically printed circuit board and
extended card-edge bus with a material such as flex cables or harness
cables which absorbs improper force.  It holds them rigidly by
mechanical parts like a screw, etc.  Fig. 2 describes a sample using
a flex cable and screw.
