Removable Media Tray/Can Design

      Disclosed is a media tray and can that allows an operator to
plug and unplug media while the machine is running and in a timely
fashion.  The mechanical mechanism also eliminates plastic creep.

      Views A and B show an exploded and assembled media tray
assembly.

      To load media tray assembly 11 into cage 7, pull handles 4 all
the way out to Position E (see View C).

      Find slots made by forms 10 in cage 7 and slide flanges 12 on
tray assembly 11 into slots 10 on cage 7.

      Continue loading tray assembly 11 by pushing tray assembly in
until latches 2 & 3 find what feels like a stop 14 in cage 7 (see
Position K of View D).

      Finish loading the tray assembly 11 by pushing handles 4 in,
which rotates latches 2 & 3 into openings 18.  The finish loading
movement is demonstrated as handle 4 goes from Position K to Position
H.

      The mechanical advantage of feature 16 on handle 4 pushing
against latches 2 & 3 and over surface 17 makes the transition from
Position G to Position J easy.  This camming action drives surface 13
on handles 4 against surface 21 on cage 7.  That action seats the
connector 15 on flex cable 5 to the connector on back board 8
(Position J) which  finishes the loading of tray assembly 11 into
cage 7.  The final Position  H demonstrates a latched-in media tray
where the latches 2 & 3 cannot put  any opening pressure on handles
4, which minimizes and in this case e...
