Re-construct Codepoint-characteristics Associations of Host Dataset
on Workstation

   Disclosed is a process for re-constructing
codepoint-characteristics associations of host dataset on
workstation.

   A lot of host datasets have characteristics associated
with some specific codepoints.  For example in Interactive System
Productivity Facility (ISPF) panel source, there is a section for
defining attribute character (codepoints) definitions; and there is
another section for screen layout where the defined attribute
characters will be used.  These codepoint-characteristics
associations are broke when the datasets is transfer in text mode to
workstation.  The following process will re-construct these
associations and the host datasets will be useful again when
downloaded to workstation.

   Figure 1 is a sample ISPF panel source.  Here, we have an
association between the non-displayable character which has a hex
value of X'0A' and the attribute definition (TYPE PT).

   However, when this dataset is transferred in text mode to the
workstation it may look like figure 2.

   When the data set is transferred in text mode to the
workstation, all codepoints for alpha-numeric characters are
converted to corresponding codepoints for alpha-numeric characters
on the workstation.  The attribute definition "0A TYPE(PT)" should
read the same.  However, the non-displayable character which has a
hex value of X'0A' is mapped to the another non-displayable
character (with a hex va...
