Abstract

Disclosure is a device for obtaining the stereo image from the normal display of PC's (Personal Computer), Television set or LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel without any modifications of its hardware. The stereo image can be observed by obtaining the image for the right eye and the another image to the left eye respectively. The images are displayed on the display device by calculating with PC or obtaining with two TV cameras when recording. When displaying by switching right and left images in a short time, right (or left) identification mark is added on the right (or left) image to synchronize.

   Disclosure is a device for obtaining the stereo image from

hardware.  The stereo image can be observed by obtaining the image

   Fig. 1 shows the configuration of the device.
  1.  Stereo Adapter A simple Liquid Crystal Panel with no
      complex patterning covered with one layer of a polarized
      film or plate.
  2.  Polarized glasses Each side has the different direction
      of polarization.
  3.  Polarizing controller This detects the identification
      mark and controls the direction of the adapter panel
      polarization.

   Fig. 2 shows how this adapter works.  Adapter panel and
polarizing controller makes the image for the right eye with the
horizontal polarized light (for example) and for the left eye with
the vertical polarized light.  Then the stereo image is able to be
obtained by using the polarized glasses.
