Paper Cutting Device incl.hinge Mechanism

A device is shown which permits paper to be cut in a
printer while at the same time ensuring optimal access to the
printer and/or increasing operational safety.

A particular problem is posed by the fact that the cutting
wheel (E) is located behind the cutter plate (D) and consequently
the cutting mechanism cannot be directly hinged out of the way in
the event of a paper jam or the like in order to provide better
access to the printer.

This problem is solved by causing the shaft (S) by means
of a lever (L) to actuate a release lever which, in turn, disengages
a detent.  The cuttering wheel (E) is then lifted by a spring over
the edge of the cutter plate (D), so that, after a further lever
movement (L), the complete unit can be opened, swivelling around (C)
without damaging the cuttering wheel (E) and/or the cutter plate (D).
