Automatic Speed Limit Notification

It is quite a difficult task for the car drivers to make
sure that they are driving under/at speed limit since speed limit
signs are posted only at certain entry points.  Such limit signs are
frequently missed out by the drivers from being noted resulting in
unsafe driving.

The solution described here utilizes the GPS based locator
module that will become commonly available in motor vehicles in the
near future.  The speed signs posted by the department of
transportation can be fixed with RF beacons that continuously
transmit the local speed limit and GPS range that limit applies to.
The embedded controller in the GPS receiver matches the location of
the car to the GPS ranges that are available from the various RF
beacon signals that are within the receiving range of the car.
Depending on the range, a heads up display or some other LED/LCD
display provides the actual speed limit for that area to the car
driver so that the driver may correct the car speed accordingly.

In addition to the speed limit, other local information of
interest can also be sent to the drivers.  This can include, any
fast-food business, for example, is open or if it's past it's
closing time etc.
