Abstract

This is an invention about fabrication process of thin cell for liquid crystal display. The invented process flow is described as follows. The advantage of this invention is not only to achieve high production yield by using single panel in good quality, but also to shorten dispenser travel time by locating 2 different seal ports as close as possible. (Process description of thin cell process flow) 2 different seal patterns as shown in figure 1 are described onto either single size array or single size color filter panel by dispenser. Each port of both seals is located closer in order to shorten the dispenser travel time. And then, array and color filter are assembled. After each seal is cured, the port (1) of protect seal is sealed with resin.

Thin Cell Fabrication by Protect Seal

   This is an invention about fabrication process of thin
cell for liquid crystal display.  The invented process flow is
described as follows.  The advantage of this invention is not only to

color filter are assembled.  After each seal is cured, the port (1)
of protect seal is sealed with resin.  In figure 1, inner seal is to
work for keeping liquid crystal inside cell and protect seal is to
work for preventing electrical pads from being damaged during
mechanically polishing or chemically etching process.

   After making the cell thinner to a certain thickness,
protect seal is cut out to expose electrical pads.  Liquid crystal is
injected through the port of inner seal, and then its port(2) is
sealed with resin.
