Abstract

Disclosed is a method for generating multiple paged HyperText Markup Language (hereafter, it's called "HTML") documents dynamically with a text data file (hereafter, it's called as "TEXT_DATA_FILE") and a format file (hereafter, it's called as "FORMAT_FILE"). The file format and description are given below.

This text was extracted from an ASCII text file.
This is the abbreviated version, containing approximately 52% of the total text.

A Method for Generating HTML Documents by Text Data and Format File

Disclosed is a method for generating multiple paged
HyperText Markup Language (hereafter, it's called "HTML") documents
dynamically with a text data file (hereafter, it's called as
"TEXT_DATA_FILE") and a format file (hereafter, it's called as
"FORMAT_FILE").  The file format and description are given below.

   Description of file format

   1.  TEXT_DATA_FILE The form of TEXT_DATA_FILE is a table
form marked off by a some delimiter which can be specified for the
customer.  The data must be a ASCII text string.  The first item of
the each line must be a data pattern number which means the data
attribute of the line, and the data pattern number 0 must be only at
the first line of the file.  On the example case of Figure 3, the
delimiter is a comma ",", and the data pattern number of the line 2
is "1".

   2.  FORMAT_FILE FORMAT_FILE is a HTML file including some
special tags defined by this method, which are replaced with actual
text data in TEXT_DATA_FILE.

Below tags can be specified at FORMAT_FILE and they can be
used as the output html files format.
    dp_a(n1, n2) :
         n1: data pattern number
n2: data item number of a line
It is replaced with a text data of a line including
         the same data pattern number.
Only one tag can be specified at a formatted file.
    dp_vn3 :
n3: data item number of a line
It is replaced with a text data of a line including
         the data pattern number 0.
The data pattern number 0 means the data to be included
         at all pages.
    dp_tn4 :
         n4: data pattern number
The line can be output as a subtitle line corresponding
with the data pattern number if the tag is specified.
    dp_maxrows :
The maximum lines of a page including a subtitle line.
    dp_subtitle :
The flag to output subtitle lines.
yes: The subtitle line is output.
no:  The subtitle line is not output.

Below tags can be specified at FORMAT_FILE and they can
be used for the purpose of the application flow control.
    dp_maxpage :
It is replaced with the actual maxi...
