Rotary Head Lifter for Head Stack Assembly Gramload Tester

This article describes a structure for Head lift up/down
of Hard Disk Drive Head Stack Assembly (HSA *1) to measure the
gramload, such as the disk with slope.  (Fig.1)

To measure the gramload that is spring load of Head, the
only head to be measured should touch to dummy disk(*2) on the load
cell.  Half moon shape cam rod(*3) has been used to lift up or down
so far.  (Fig.2)  This half moon shape cam rod is not enough to
control the lift-up span, because the lift-up contact point is apart
from head.

Therefore, the disk shape with slope(*4) is more effective
so as to contact to merge lip(*5).   Adding, this structure can
be applied to more small disk pitch(*6).
